Over the past few weeks, I have been following the events happening in Nepal with a mixture of shock, sadness, and deep reflection. It is not every day that we see a country being shaken to its core by its own citizens, particularly its young and energetic people who should be building the country. What started as discontent over a government policy has quickly evolved into a national crisis that has shaken and disturbed the political order, uncovered deep frustrations, and written a new chapter in Nepal’s history. How It All Started The spark that lit the fire was the government’s decision to impose a ban on popular social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and others. One may ask why.
